question about weapon req
hi i have always wondered if you have a req 12 weapon and like 10 points in that weapon's req and +2 or whatever in runes would that take away anything from the weapon's effectiveness? mostly just a question for melee also just a random question is having higher health effective for warriors? i have around 606-638 (depending on weapon set) but i like playing around with build ideas and would like it if i could have more points to move around with. (i.e get a major rune instead of minors) thanks in advance C:

You can always play around, and have fun(thats the deal about guildwars, isnt it?)
If you meet the req, you will deal the damage the weapon does. In my opinion, try with one major, try not to use more in hm, Armor>health, but you still dont wanna run around with 350 hp, as you will be dead Pretty soon. If you got anymore war questions, ill be happy to help you! my ign is Oscar The Lord ~Oscar |

As long as you can meet the req for the weapon, you'll be fine, although many people have their attribute a bit higher than the weapon in case they get weakened.
600 hp is okay I guess, however armor runes might be more helpful in the long run. Also, if you feel safe on your armor and health, you could replace some minor runes with majors, but I don't think people would recommend it unless you really need to. |

Attribute boosts from runes, consumables, temporary skill effects, etc. all count towards your weapon req. If you currently meet the requirement, there will be no penalty.
Keep in mind, though, that other effects or debuffs (such as weakness) can lower your attributes to the point of making you not meet the requirement. Also, environmental effects, such as the under level 20 "buff" granted in EotN can also force your attributes to fixed values, even if you technically would have more otherwise. |

as posted earlier, as long as you have the requirement for the weapon (through runes or raw points) it doesn't matter
as far as damage calculation however an attribute of 12 is the base for maximum damage potential for any weapon (so its usually best to at least get 12) also as stated by others, most people try to have at least 1 point higher than needed for the weapon just in case of debuffs |
